“I brought my memories with me”
When my parents were in their nineties and in ill health, they refused to move from their home to get help. That represented a significant problem for me because I lived 2,000 miles away. I decided I would never subject my family to a similar
situation.
So, by the time I reached age 67 I knew it was decision making time. I had been a widow for 7 years, and I was tired of paying repair bills, escalating property taxes and lawn care service. That's when I moved to John Knox Village. For a while, I continued to work as Principal of a middle school in Weslaco, but I wanted to spend more leisure time so I retired.
I never regretted moving to the Village and I never looked back. I am very content with my life! Besides, I brought my memories with me and I'm making new ones through the friends and activities at John Knox Village.
